Owen - Sean Cody Update

A few years or months back I posted on a possible tragic update on Owen and today I can confirm that was true. Owen is not dead but he did lose both his legs while serving in the US military. Erik Rhodes Cause of Death?

According to the New York Times article on Erik Rhodes' untimely passing might have been caused do to drugs. The Times spoke with Erik Rhodes twin brother, I will not reveal his name in this site, who stated that he saw some text messages. Those messages read that he had performed with a partner some sex acts for some rich clients and then later engaged in some recreational drugs. Apparently Erik didn't feel good and left for home only to die a few hours later of a cardiac arrest.

The article also stated that Erik found out that he was HIV positive after a mandatory STD screening for Randy Blue. I have to stop here and say Randy Blue you are looking good in my eyes for testing and for not filming a sex scene with him after finding out. Getting back though apparently Erik did drugs, steroids and even sold them to supplement the decreasing income coming from the porn industry.

Was supplemental work the way he contracted HIV? As we all know many of the porn actors supplement their porn income with escort work and what not. As you know when you are trying to make the most money you can some are willing to offer bareback for more. I don't know if this is the way he contracted it but this is something that the industry will have to deal with as their is less income coming in than before. I can count over 10 porn actors doing escort work and some of those actors are going back into the porn industry possibly passing around STD's.

Response! The Sword/Should Anonymous Bloggers’ HIV Statuses Be Revealed??

This post is a direct response to the post that The Sword editor did oh HIV statuses of porn stars. The Sword editor takes a stance against revealing the statuses of said porn stars because of discrimination and what might happen in the industry if said happens. I totally disagree with his stance, porn stars with HIV should reveal their statuses to the people they are working with and allow those people to make a decision on that knowledge. Some guys don't want to take that slim but possible risk and plus you know producers sometimes push for bareback scenes and I'm sure they don't care about statuses of their actors.

I used to think that once an actor was found positive that was the end of his career and that they would protect the other actors. That is not the case as the industry gives a shit about the health of their actors. The industry only cares about their profits and how much they can squeeze out of actors. It is a said thing when actors start coming down with diseases because studios are too cheap to demand or pay for STD screenings.

The conversation actually started because The New York Times did an article about Erik Rhodes and revealed he was in fact HIV positive. I am extremely sad to hear that but more extremely shocked that we found out from them and not from Erik. Disclosure is the best way as you know what kind of a person you are dealing with. Mason Wyler came clean about it and at least I can trust him but to keep it a secret while other people's health is on the line is not fair.

I know that my opinions do not coincide with others but this is not an industry that is safe by any means. This is an industry in which most actors catch multiple STD's per year. This is an industry in which actors are bullied into performing risky sex acts by unscrupulous producers and directors. This is not television or movie acting in which actors are safe from contracting by working with someone positive. I totally agree actors, not porn actors, can maintain their status a secret but not in porn. Porn is porn and no matter how well it's monitored it's always going to be risky, oral is risky, anal is very risky, eating cum is even riskier and so on. Reveal their statuses and protect the actors!!!

Erik Rhodes Dead!
